Privacy Policy

Summary

coif (“the coif app,” “we,” “our”) is built to respect your photo. Face-shape analysis runs on your device using Apple’s Vision framework — your selfie never leaves the phone just to be measured. When you request an AI preview, your photo is sent to our generation service and discarded after the result returns. We never use your photos to train AI models, never sell your data, and never show third-party ads.

Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Apphive Technologies, a private technology company. You can reach us any time at support@apphive.tech for questions about this policy, data-access requests, or deletion requests. We respond within seven days.

What we collect

• Account data: email address and Apple ID associated with your subscription, used for account restoration and support.
• Your selfies: the photo you choose to generate a preview from. It is transmitted to our generation service over TLS, used to produce the requested preview, and discarded from the service immediately afterwards. A local copy stays on your device in your coif history until you delete it.
• Generated looks: stored in your cloud account (Pro only) so you can access your history across devices. Deleted when you ask us to.
• Analytics: aggregated usage signals (app opens, feature usage, generation success rate) to improve the product. No personally-identifying information is attached; all identifiers are hashed.
• Payment data: processed by Apple via the App Store. We never see or store your card or bank details — we receive only a transaction receipt from Apple.

On-device vs. cloud processing

Face-shape detection is performed locally on your iPhone using the Vision framework that ships with iOS. Those measurements never reach our servers. Only when you tap “Generate preview” is the photo itself uploaded — to produce the single preview you requested, then discarded. The generated image is returned to your device and saved locally (and to your Pro cloud account, if you have one).

What we never do

• Sell your data to third parties.
• Use your selfies or generated looks to train AI models.
• Show ads of any kind, inside or outside the app.
• Access your camera or photo library without a direct action on your part.
• Share your email with other Apphive Technologies products unless you opt in.

Your rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy laws, you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion (“right to be forgotten”), or a portable export. You can delete your account directly from Settings in the app. Email support@apphive.tech for data export or formal complaints. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

coif is rated 13+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when this policy changes. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app before taking effect.
